Gettysburg Ride

OK... Here lies Jennie Wade, dead, in her basement.

Here is the little dude with an electric face that tells the story to you about Jenny's last day.

You have to look real hard, but in the sash, by the vertical muntin, is an original bullet that was fired that day. Not the bullet that killed Jenny.

Here is the bed that Jenny's sister, Georgia delivered a baby boy days before the battle of Gettysburg started. Posted by Picasa

These monuments were wonderful in detail, very large.

And the houses were awesome.. I looked at the windows...

View of the battle field at Little Round Top.
Very sad place...

Then the NY Infantry monument, which resembles a small castle. You could climb up the granite stairwell and look out, which is where the shot below was taken of the battlefield below.

Another road to more battle fields..

This corn field had a monument in it...

The last pic in this section is Little Round Top in the distance.

Gettysburg Ride

I was in awe as to the size of some of these monuments. Some battlefields were just loaded with big monuments.
Phil wanted hi pic taken by a cannon. The last monument in this section is Pennsylvania. The big generals were cut into the stone on the top.
